It is tradition to dress the little girls super fancy for the christmas eve party. This is my husband’s side of the family and its always fun. The adults are casual,but the girls are dressed to the nines. My daughter is four and she loves dressing up. She insists on a mani/pedi, crazy tights, poofy dress and killer shoes. Idk where she get this, because I am not the super girly type. She is, so we indulge her "creative" fashion sense. Here lies the conflict, her cousin who is 3 will only wear a dress if it has some sort of large animal or creature plastered to it and is worn over a turtleneck, i.e. dog,bunny, snowman etc. My Mom n law likes to match theyre clothes for holidays. My daughter refused to wear the last easter dress and my husband and son threatened to spill something on it shoud I force the issue. Sure enough Mom n law was disappointed. I love my mother in law but how do i avoid the
xmas dress without hurt feelings? P.S. she bought a cute punky tutu outfit for theyre pictures once and my brother n law thought they were too old looking on the girls. so that ended that. At least she tried.
